Is the Fire-Type Mass Outbreak Wonder Pick event good?
There are only benefits to picking from Bonus Picks, either to complete your collection or to even try to get a Shop Ticket or a Pack Hourglass, items that were absent from the first Wonder Pick event.
This is a very good opportunity for newcomers to build a good meta deck! Ninetales, Rapidash, their pre-evolutions and Blaine are the core cards for the Blaine deck, a budget yet very powerful deck.
Rare Picks are more engaging as they consume 3 Wonder Stamina. Plus, you might already have obtained these cards when you opened packs from Genetic Apex (all from the Charizard pack, except for Arcanine ex in the Pikachu Pack).
While collectors won't need to Rare Pick after they have obtained one of each card, players might try their luck as Arcanine ex is a powerful Pokémon. Arcanine ex decks are notable for their good matchup against the dominant Pikachu ex deck.
It's even easier to build if the very first pack you opened on Pokémon TCG Pocket was the Pikachu Pack, as it came with a guaranteed Arcanine ex. This means you're only one away from completing the playset.
Getting Arcanine ex from the event can also spare you from opening further Pikachu packs and rather focus on Charizard packs. These contains the best cards for Pokémon: Moltres ex and Charizard ex, which make up one of the most powerful decks in the Genetic Apex format. You will actually need the Legendary Fire Bird to wrap up your Arcanine ex deck, so if you felt like opening Charizard pack to build a deck, you might want to try your luck at Rare Picking!
