Pokemon TCG Pocket demo announced at the Pokémon World Championships 2024

By Pokémon Zone

The Pokémon Company will unveil more of TCG Pocket at the big annual mass: the Pokémon World Championships 2024. On August 1st, the company launched the website for the World Championship where thousands of the most accomplished players of this season will compete to determine the best player in the world in each category : Trading Card Game (TCG), Video Game (VGC), Pokémon GO and Pokémon Unite. This fierce competition will be held from August 16 to 18 at Honolulu (Hawaii).

Attendees fortunate and brave enough to participate in this marvelous event will have a plethora of activities and side events to enjoy, like screenings of Pokémon the Movie and Pokémon Horizons, a Play Lab , autographs sessions with high profile executives and TCG artists, and the most interesting to us : a demo of Pokemon TCG Pocket, available all day for 3 days.

The communication around this attraction is rather shy : it appears to be a demo and not the final product. There hasn't been much information on additional features beyond what we've seen in the trailer. The emphasis seems to be on the graphic effects, but it's unclear whether this will be limited to showcasing booster openings and card collecting, or if there will be more gameplay elements included. We’ll have informants ready to share the latest news over the weekend.

Even far from Hawaii, fans from the world can share in the experience and even try their luck at winning rewards by tuning into the official stream and participating in a Fantasy Team Contest (exclusive to US residents). In this contest, participants build their ideal TCG or VGC lineup and can earn prizes based on how well these Pokemon perform during the competition.
